Fire is one of the most awesome and exciting special effects to capture. From tiny pinpoints of flame to vast explosions, move us with your fire photography.

This category will have one grand prize winner and nine additional finalists.

  • *With participant's consent, the prints may be submitted to the public exhibition and/or sold on favorable consignment.

    Winners will be privately contacted subsequent to the closing of entries. We will feature finalists on various social media programs, and in a post exhibition tour.

    Special Rules This category allows for a greater than usual level of retouching. The usual restriction of digital enhancement of 25% is pushed to a 35% allowance. Determination of whether too much enhancement has taken place is at the sole and uncontested discretion of the judges.

  • You may interpose real elements into the photo that were not in the original shot. Real fire, not fake fire.
  • minor props and enhancements may be inserted as embellishments..
  • All complete architecture and persons must be from a real photograph. You may NOT paint or CGI these such things into the photo.
  • If you are unsure if your image contains more than 35% artifice we encourage your to be conservative in your estimation.
